Ron Howard is a great director. One of the best out there. However, he did ruin "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code" in my opinion. But they were ok. Anyway, his other works are quite legit. And do watch "Cinderella Man (2005)" by Ron. Brilliant movie.

The movie stars one of my favourite actor "Russell Crowe" as 'John Forbes Nash Jr', a math genius that suffered over the years due to schizophrenia. Even though 'Denzel Washington' won the oscar that year for his role in 'Training Day' (one of my favourite movies), I think Russell should've won. Don't get me wrong, I loved Denzel's performance as a bad guy, but still. The lovely "Jennifer Connelly" as 'Alicia Nash' as John's love interest and ultimately becoming his wife, beautiful performance. She is always so beautiful and calm :'). "Paul Bettany" as 'Charles', John's imaginary friend, who is basically always fun to watch, that guy. Alot of other big actors and all of them doing their roles to utter perfection. The acting is basically, perfection.
The cinematography is bright and colourful which certainly attracts the audience and the soundtrack is brilliant. A few cheesy moments here and there, but doesn't ruin the overall mood of the film.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, if you haven't already seen this one, then you definitely NEED to. RIGHT NOW!

Based on a true story, a man’s life suddenly become from worse to worst as he has to take care of his son as well as strive for a new job with a thousand hurdles in his way. He had heavily invested his savings in a new technology known as the “Bone Density Scanner” but the machine was a tad bit hard to sell and he had to work his socks off to feed his family. During all this turmoil, his wife leaves him, he is kicked out of his house and his machine gets stolen as well as he is trying to get a job at a firm through an internship program. If he gets it, his life would turn out in a jiffy.

Will Smith plays the protagonist role in this beautiful movie. The movie shows Will as a man who has done some things wrong in the past but he’s trying to get out of the tornado now but things aren't working out the way he imagined. Yet he never gives up. What’s beautiful in this movie is that is shows the significance of little things in life. For example, the deliberate mistake in the movie’s name, “happyness” shows us that just one letter, one word, one action can bring massive changes in life. The director has done a very fine job along with his crew but special credit goes to the story writers. They have done a magnificent job. Although I feel the camera work could have been much better. The cinematography, with the help of music, sends chills down the spine in some scenes. Will smith is the main actor and we all know how good an actor that guy is.
So I suggest you guys watch it for it will scar you emotionally especially if you have struggled for something in your life personally.

Captain Phillips Poster

IMDb Rating: 8.1/10
My rating: 6/10

Inspired by true story of Captain Richards and 2009, hijacking of Alabama Cargo ship by Pirates. The first american cargo ship to be hijacked after 200 years. Don't let the title mislead you, it's not a super-hero or a action flick movie, but a reality story on how people act under dangerous measures . The film is emotional and puts you into the protagonist's shoes, making you feel like you're him. This is a completely different movie, when you watch this movie you won't be able to tell how you're feeling and be filled with tears. There's also a rumour that Tom Hanks might claim a oscar for this movie, we'll see. ;)

Let me know what you think about review in the comment box below, thanks :)

The Conjuring Poster

IMDb Rating: 7.6/10
My rating: 6.8/10

The Conjuring was directed by the same director of Saw and Insidious which both turned out to be Hollywood hits..but the main reason behind The Conjuring's success is summed into 4 words. " Based on a true story " Read ahead and you'll never want to play " Hide and Clap. " again.

The movie starts off with girls talking about how their house is haunted, they explain they were able to communicate with the "ghost" and later gave the ghost permission to move into the doll, believing it would make things less complicated for them. They realized it was a bad mistake afterwards. The scene moves to another family, where it shows a family move into the house with their dog. They notice changes in their new house on their first week already.

There are 2 families in this movie, the Perron family and Warrens (based on the real life family). Ed and Lorraine Warren are paranormal investigaters. The Perron family seeks the help of the Warrens after they realize the changes in their new home.

The Warrens are skeptical at first when they're approached by Mrs. Perron as they think it may just be another "household" problem (floor creaks, rats etc) Mrs. Perron begs them to come and inspect their house, when their fears become true.

You may say this is just " another horror movie" , you're right but this one is worth watching as it has a realistic taste to it. The good thing about this movie was that they did not over-do it, as most horrors movie do. Such as more blood, deaths etc. The film had more of a classier tone to it and a few " gotcha " scenes.

Now let's compare this with real life.
The movie is based on the Warren case files. The real Ed Warren is dead though he would be very proud to have seen this movie. The Perron family have been interviewed and they swore that this story is true and that is EXACTLY what happened at the house. Though most of you including me might be thinking the both families had psychological problems, but we don't know for sure...until it happens to us.
