The Conjuring Poster

IMDb Rating: 7.6/10
My rating: 6.8/10

The Conjuring was directed by the same director of Saw and Insidious which both turned out to be Hollywood hits..but the main reason behind The Conjuring's success is summed into 4 words. " Based on a true story " Read ahead and you'll never want to play " Hide and Clap. " again.

The movie starts off with girls talking about how their house is haunted, they explain they were able to communicate with the "ghost" and later gave the ghost permission to move into the doll, believing it would make things less complicated for them. They realized it was a bad mistake afterwards. The scene moves to another family, where it shows a family move into the house with their dog. They notice changes in their new house on their first week already.

There are 2 families in this movie, the Perron family and Warrens (based on the real life family). Ed and Lorraine Warren are paranormal investigaters. The Perron family seeks the help of the Warrens after they realize the changes in their new home.

The Warrens are skeptical at first when they're approached by Mrs. Perron as they think it may just be another "household" problem (floor creaks, rats etc) Mrs. Perron begs them to come and inspect their house, when their fears become true.

You may say this is just " another horror movie" , you're right but this one is worth watching as it has a realistic taste to it. The good thing about this movie was that they did not over-do it, as most horrors movie do. Such as more blood, deaths etc. The film had more of a classier tone to it and a few " gotcha " scenes.

Now let's compare this with real life.
The movie is based on the Warren case files. The real Ed Warren is dead though he would be very proud to have seen this movie. The Perron family have been interviewed and they swore that this story is true and that is EXACTLY what happened at the house. Though most of you including me might be thinking the both families had psychological problems, but we don't know for sure...until it happens to us.

Let me know what you think about this review in the comment below, thanks :)
